This service allows the ships owner company to renew the navigation license for a national commercial ship and reissue it for foreign ships.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Certificates proving seaworthiness of the vessel must be valid based on national requirements and international maritime conventions for ratification
  2. The vessel must be classified by one of the classification bodies approved by the Maritime Administration in the UAE if it is 24 meters or more long or if it is 150 tons or more

Fees Details

  • Annual tax for each ship registered under the UAE’s flag = tonnage x 2 + inspection fees
  • A late fee if the navigational license of a national commercial ship is not renewed within 60 days from the expiry date: 100 dirhams for each month, with a maximum of 1,000 dirhams

Required Documents

The required documents issued by approved authorities require a stamp, taking into consideration that the digital stamp is acceptable.

  1. Ship-specific certificates from classification bodies as applicable

  2. Ship insurance as applicable

  3. Copy of the registration certificate, crew and wireless license of the (foreign) vessel and the continuous identification record as applicable
