Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure Launches Second Edition of Research and Innovation Award
Under the patronage of His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) launched the second edition of the Research and Innovation Award to accelerate the development of innovative solutions to challenges in energy, water, infrastructure, transport, and housing.
The award covers five key areas, including energy solutions for better future, water security and sustainability, cities of the future, revolution on wheels, and housing era. It targets participations from the government sector, private sector, universities and R&D centers, startups, individual researchers and experts, and youth innovators.
The award organizing committee has extended an invitation to the targeted segments locally, regionally, and internationally to participate in the competition by visiting the Ministry’s website, moei.gov.ae. It has set September 30, 2024, as the deadline for submissions. Winners will be announced and awarded in February 2025.
His Excellency Eng Hassan Al Mansoori, Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Transport Affairs at MoEI, said: “The Research and Innovation Award aims to encourage researchers and innovators to design future government work models and develop trailblazing and tangible solutions to challenges in the targeted sectors, supporting MoEI’s objectives and the national strategies of the UAE. The Ministry is keen on helping translate groundbreaking concepts into reality. The second edition of the award will attract participation from researchers across the globe, underscoring the UAE’s position as a leading international hub for innovation and excellence.”
