The UAE, represented by Sheikh Zayed Housing Program and other housing entities, participated in the 22nd meeting of Their Excellencies the Ministers concerned with housing affairs in the GCC, hosted in Qatar. On behalf of His Excellency Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, His Excellency Eng Mohamed Al Mansouri, Director-General of Sheikh Zayed Housing Program, headed the delegation. The meeting saw discussions of vibrant housing issues, including legislation, to develop the sector.

His Excellency Eng Al Mansouri said: “Such meetings can align legal and legislative frameworks and drive partnerships to support the goals of GCC countries. The next stage requires our diligent work and concerted efforts to transform future plans and strategies into real work programs, as sustainable housing, which we all aim to achieve is a pivotal issue for all.”

He added: “For the UAE, housing is a key priority. We work according to a comprehensive development perspective based on unifying the efforts of all parties related to the housing sector, to meet the needs of citizens for quality government housing, by designing ambitious initiatives and action plans for the housing and development sector. I am proud of the achievements of the housing sector in the UAE. Owing to the support of our wise leadership, we made remarkable achievements that resulted in 91% housing ownership rate among citizens, one of the highest rates in the world.”
