The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Fujairah Digital Government, as part of efforts to support digital transformation and enhance the efficiency of government services through the exchange of expertise and the establishment of best innovative practices to achieve this goal.
The agreement was signed by Sheikh Eng Mohammed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Director General of Fujairah Digital Government, and His Excellency Eng Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at MoEI. This step reflects the commitment of both parties to achieving the UAE's national vision in the field of digital transformation.
The memorandum aims to develop and implement innovative digital solutions, enhance cooperation in improving government services, and provide the necessary tools and resources to achieve common strategic objectives. It also focuses on exchanging knowledge and expertise in areas such as smart transformation, supporting knowledge management, future foresight, as well as collaborating in organizing events, workshops, training courses, and coordinating meetings, visits, and joint tasks. Additionally, it emphasizes the application of best practices in smart transformation and cybersecurity.
Both parties confirmed the importance of activating this memorandum by forming specialized working teams to implement joint projects and ensure the achievement of the desired goals. Coordinators will be appointed from both sides to monitor the implementation of the memorandum and oversee various digital initiatives and projects.
In this regard, His Excellency Eng Sharif Al Olama said: "The signing of this memorandum reflects MoEI’s commitment to enhancing strategic partnerships with various government entities, which contributes to improving the efficiency of government performance through adopting the latest digital technologies. This step comes within the framework of the country's direction toward comprehensive digital transformation, which helps develop services and achieve sustainable development."
His Excellency emphasized that this agreement represents a pivotal step in enhancing integration between government entities, and that MoEI is committed to supporting digital transformation and developing government services according to the best global standards.
He added: "The exchange of knowledge and expertise between both parties will enable us to build an integrated system that supports the UAE's aspirations in the field of digital transformation and government leadership."
For his part, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi confirmed that the signing of the agreement with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure is part of their plan to expand cooperation and integration between all government entities in the country. This supports the development of services for both government and private sectors and facilitates the process of linking them to provide electronic services, making digital transformation a goal to achieve a vision that aligns with global developments in service delivery and achieving strategic goals and directions aimed at the advancement and prosperity of the country.
He pointed out the potential to benefit from the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure's experience in executing joint projects and providing a secure environment that allows both parties to exchange information and expertise effectively and efficiently.
