His Excellency Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei
H.E. Suhail Mohamed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates, leads the development of national policies and strategies across the energy, infrastructure, transport, housing, and water sectors, strengthening the UAE’s competitiveness and global leadership in these vital sectors.
His Excellency was appointed Minister of Energy in 2013 and subsequently became Minister of Energy and Industry in 2017. In 2020, the Ministry’s mandate expanded significantly following the merger of the Ministry of Energy and Industry with the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, and the Federal Transport Authority – Land and Maritime, forming the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. His Excellency continued to serve as Minister of Energy and Infrastructure.
Throughout his career, His Excellency has led the development of an integrated national energy and infrastructure framework, overseeing the implementation of strategies in renewable energy, hydrogen, and national water security, as well as the development of national infrastructure, the federal road network, and the government housing system. These efforts contribute to enhancing quality of life and supporting the UAE’s economic and social development, in line with the UAE’s sustainability agenda and the UAE Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative.
His Excellency also leads efforts to develop the land and maritime transport and logistics sectors through the modernisation of policies and legislation and the enhancement of the efficiency and safety of the transport system. These efforts further reinforce the UAE’s position as a global hub for trade and logistics.
In addition to his ministerial responsibilities, His Excellency holds several leadership positions, including Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Emirates Petroleum Company (Emarat). His Excellency also serves as a Board Member of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Mubadala Investment Company, as well as a member of their respective boards and committees. He also serves on several national and international councils and committees and represents the UAE at global forums on energy, infrastructure, transport, and housing. Through these roles, His Excellency continues to advance the UAE’s efforts towards an integrated system focused on innovation, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence.
